Extended Collaboration #1: Privileging the Picture Plane

For this collaboration, students worked in collaboration (in groups of three) to make an object that incorporated both alphabetic and non-alphabetic visual information. The students were instructed to privilege the "text" plane, meaning that the objects should be in the form of those sites traditionally used for alphabetic information: Books, letters, parking tickets, what have you. Below are the results.

Spot Collab #2: Word + Image

For the second spot collaboration of the semester, students were given a set of photocopied images, along with a page of semi-randomly gathered text. VVP 2019, Spot-Collaboration No. 1!

The spring semester has begun, which means a new section of VVP. We have 24 students this time, and they've already begun to make things. Below are the results of the first spot collaboration, where each group of three students is handed a sheet of text plucked randomly from the Internet, a pair of scissors, and some tape, and then told to go.
